Snake Eyes 04:29
Don’t stall, Fall from all your hiding, Don’t fade out, step out, Then step into where you’re going, Why change? When you do not know what needs changing, Why run, from the faces you’ve been knowing and the places you’ve been going to, To re-define your dreams I’m sleeping, Don’t make a sound, I’m falling from all that I hide, I’m wasted, but don’t throw me, don’t throw me out, I’m weeping, but a drying tear won’t call no-one Snake eyes, Time wasted with no care, Old ties, no longer in the air, I was hoping with sun light, That we might build this tower tall, But if not, it don’t matter, ‘Coz we all carry the light inside…… It’s your call, Change to the river will come, Many things will come undone, Snake eyes, time wasted with no care, Our stories in the making, but there is no story there….. But you might, but you might shine, Shine on, But it’s your call, I’ll leave it up to you
2.
Forgiveness 04:16
Forgiveness, Let it embrace us, Let it into your life to help erase those, Dark feelings, you gets towards life, When the one you love, isn’t treatin’ you right, As our leaders, Are dropping bombs upon our brothers, They raping our culture, and enslaving our mothers, I can’t define, what their reasons are for, But God teach me forgiveness, so that I can stand tall. There’s something wrong with us all, But there’s also something right and, Darkness lurks in every hall but, also does the light and as we groove into a future, that we can not visualize, well have to forgive our politicians for burning up our blue skies and suckin up our minerals, till our mothers blood runs dry, like once was green land forestry is now where deserts lie, Coz governments and the industries aren’t caring for the land, God teach me forgiveness, but help me take a stand, Against these fucked half wits in politics, Where the biggest gun is the biggest dick, And the weakest one is the one to kick, Oh, Help, we to change this quick, We should step up from the back position, We can all carry a soulful vision. There’s so many fucken jails, so few public kitchens, So many hunting whales and dolphins, for their incomes, But these who are our teachers, in who we are to learn from, God teach me forgiveness, so that all my lights can shine on, And I can give this world that lives, the things I feel are mine to give.. God teach me forgiveness, Lay light by my side Buddha teach me forgiveness, Lay light by my side Krishna teach me forgiveness, Lay light by my side God teach me forgiveness, Lay light by my side

about

Mandala recorded this self titled ep. over a couple of chilled out weekends at ‘Fat disc’ studios in Gembrook back in 2002. “It was a great location for us to record; sadly, it was the only recording we did in our time together”.

At the time Mandala was playing in premier venues such as the Evelyn and the Esplanade hotel, playing alongside bands such as ‘The Grand Silent System’.

There were 4 songs on the original Ep (3 of which you can down load here).

‘Snake Eyes’ was one of the bands earlier songs, I actually wrote it when I was living in my parents shed in my teens…. and still play it today.

‘Forgiveness’ was a random lyric flow; I added a couple of chords and a groove, made a rough arrangement and took it to the band.

‘Apricot Teardrop’ was an instrumental that we wrote as a group and features Daz pulling a mad guitar solo.

‘She’, was written by Darren Jones (Daz).
